What puts the finishing touch on an excellent meal? That's right, the right wine accompaniment. At the Forsthofgut, our sommelier team under the direction of Katrin Halbwachs helps with the selection of fine wines. Her team consists of vinophile professionals and knows exactly which wines go best with the regional, freshly cooked delicacies from the ForsthofgutCUISINE, our à la carte restaurants Mizūmi and 1617, and our fine dining "echt.gut essen." In the Mizūmi, the selected wines are complemented by a special feature: you can enjoy traditional sake here.

Sake trip

At the new Japanese restaurant Mizūmi, a special feature is added to the selected wines: Here you can enjoy traditional sake. Sake is the epitome of Japanese tradition and expresses history, culture, and landscape. Sake has its very own individual taste: there are up to 400 different nuances and aromas in sake! Of course, the drink always unfolds its full aroma when enjoyed with the right dish.

Forsthofgut Collection

The Forsthofgut not only serves wines from top wineries, it also has its own Forsthofgut wines. The cooperation with young, up-and-coming vintners was an important point that made this idea particularly exciting. Our sommeliers went in search of vintners whose philosophy and cordiality fit Forsthofgut very well. The result is our own high-quality line of wines – Mr. Red, Mrs. White, Sir Sparkling, Lady Blush, and Sweet Baby.

A unique sparkling wine made from the grape varieties Müller-Thurgau (98%) and Pinot Blanc (2%). Jointly created by our sommelier team and the wild young vintner Alexander Zöller.

The result of a collaboration with wine genius Elisabeth Rücker from beautiful Lower Austria. The Chardonnay Riesling Cuveé adds both freshness and elegance to an epicure's glass.

Red wine

Mister Red

Wine for eternal life! This is a special barrique wine from the Thaller Family Winery. A cuvée of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Shiraz, matured for 38 months.
