What was once a simple forestry operation and farm - the Forsthof - has grown over the centuries into a unique place of strength. It is a hotel in which 400 years of history, the strong roots, love of nature, and inherited knowledge of five generations are always palpable. As hosts at the Forsthofgut, we are aware of the great responsibility we bear for this hotel and our homeland.
The origins of our hotel's history lie in a new beginning: The year 1617 is carved into a wooden beam as a reminder and marks the starting point of our hotel's long history. As a simple forestry operation, the estate was closely connected with the forest. We still cultivate this connection with nature at the Naturhotel Forsthofgut today.

The Forsthofgut is located at the beginning of Leogang, directly on the slopes of the Asitz, and with a view of the Leogang Rock Mountains. Surrounded by forest and meadows, the hotel is the ideal starting point for sporty exploration tours all year round: the Asitz lift is only 200 meters away, and in winter, the ski slope passes directly by the hotel. As soon as it gets warmer, the 30,000m² garden area with organic bathing lake and relaxation islands beckons you.

What motivates us at the Naturhotel Forsthofgut in Leogang is not the pursuit of superlatives and a constant "higher, faster, further" mentality. Rather, we want you to consciously experience and to celebrate a connection with nature. We want to enrich your life with unique moments.
Behind the Naturhotel Forsthofgut is the Schmuck family, the fifth generation to live here: formerly as farmers and foresters, today as enthusiastic hosts. As early as 1960, two rooms were rented out for the first time. In 1980, senior boss Rupert Schmuck and his wife Rosmarie took over the farm and enlarged the house. Since 2006, Christoph Schmuck has been running the Naturhotel in Leogang with his wife Christina and his team.
As a nature hotel, we feel uniquely united with the outdoors and value the power of nature as our greatest asset. The responsible use of resources is essential to preserve nature – and thus, an important part of our daily work at the Forsthofgut. We are working today to protect and preserve nature as a place of power, and will continue to do so in the future.
Our nature-loving hotel has received several awards in recent years, especially in the areas of wellness with Europe's first waldSPA and culinary with our ForsthofgutCUISINE concept. We feel honored by this great reception and bear this award with pride.

All the little detail makes the stay extra special like each room having its own dedicated table for breakfast and dinner during their stay. The facilities are epic - esp the wild spa complex and ski set up. The hotel has a lovely vibe with themed art and decor wherever you venture. The staff are very warm and welcoming."
