The Forsthofgut has been rooted in Leogang for 400 years, and the Schmuck family has been at home here for five generations. This long tradition and history shape every step we take. Strong roots. 1617 was the year it all began: our farm, which used to be a simple forestry operation, has been around since then. The foundation stone for the hotel in its present form was laid in 1960, and Christoph and Christina Schmuck have been running the family business since 2006. They share their passion for hospitality with their large team.
The most important ingredient of our cuisine philosophy is a passion for authentic culinary pleasure. You can taste it in every bite from breakfast to fine dining at the award-winning Chef's Table. Our three cuisine ranges celebrate good taste every single day,Â
serve vegan creations, and rely on high-quality regional products from our own farm.Â
In the cycle of the seasons, the Forsthofgut is the most beautiful constant: it is and remains the ideal base if you can't get enough of nature. In winter, the ski slope passes right by our hotel. As soon as the snow melts and well into autumn, the hiking and biking trails entice you, and in summer, the organic swimming lake in our garden provides refreshment.
