2026 | Restaurant 1617 Relocation

1617 is a place many of our guests have cherished for years: warm, cosy and familiar. This is exactly the feeling we want to preserve while thoughtfully developing it further. At its new location directly by the ski slope, there will be more room for everything that makes 1617 so special.

On 1 December 2026, the next chapter begins. Across two floors, a new home for Austrian inn culture, regional cuisine and the history of Forsthofgut will take shape. Three traditional wood-panelled dining rooms, a tiled stove, open fire and the traditional bar counter at the heart of the restaurant create a warm, welcoming atmosphere – complemented by a spacious terrace, views of the Leogang Mountains and ski-in & ski-out access in winter.

The culinary focus remains on local produce, traditional dishes and fondue. The new 1617 will offer around 70 seats indoors and approximately 50 outdoors and will welcome both hotel guests and external visitors.

2026 | ICE RINK

From 1 December 2026, a new winter meeting place for movement, connection and time together will open just steps from Restaurant 1617. Under the open sky, the ice rink invites guests to glide across the ice with views of the Leogang Mountains – and then warm up afterwards in the cosy restaurant nearby.

Whether taking your first turns on the ice, skating together or picking up the pace, the rink will become a new meeting place for hotel guests and visitors from the region alike. Ice hockey, a kids’ programme and an ice disco add even more variety, bringing winter experiences, movement and culinary enjoyment together at Forsthofgut.

2027 | STAMMHAUS RENOVATION

Where the story of Forsthofgut began, the next chapter is taking shape. The Stammhaus is the oldest building within the hotel grounds, with foundations dating back to the former Forsthof from 1617. In spring 2027, this heritage will be carefully developed further and combined with modern comfort.

The design draws inspiration from the original farmhouse, bringing together natural materials, Austrian style and modern living comfort. Three new retreats will take shape in the Stammhaus, each carrying the character of the house forward in its own way.
