As the forest turns to warm shades of gold in autumn, every step becomes more mindful: leaves rustling beneath your feet, the scent of damp earth and wood, soft light filtering through the treetops and the crisp mountain air invite you to slow down and experience the moment with all your senses. Along the approximately 8.2-kilometre forest bathing trail at the Asitz, 14 nature-inspired stations lead to peaceful resting places, forest swings, a yoga area, a treetop bed and a waterfall. It is a place to pause, breathe deeply and restore your energy amid the autumn landscape of Leogang.

Between quiet forest trails and sweeping views, autumn finds its own rhythm.

TRAIL RUNNING

Trail running means leaving busy training routes behind and heading out onto varied trails, always accompanied by panoramic mountain views. The Saalfelden Leogang region offers ideal terrain for this sport, with 21 carefully planned routes for beginners, experienced runners and professionals.

The Schmuck family’s personal recommendation for beginners is the “Ederbauern-Runde”. Taking around 35 minutes, the route starts directly at Naturhotel Forsthofgut and covers 6.9 kilometres and 202 metres of elevation gain. More experienced runners can take on the “Endless Flow Trail”, a gently undulating, 10-kilometre high-altitude route beginning at the Asitz mountain station.
